Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, when downloaded from a reputable source and scanned with an antivirus, Citra Emulator is safe; it only requests storage permission for game files.
No, the emulator does not require a physical console, but you must provide your own legally obtained 3DS game ROMs.
Citra runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and newer, though newer versions improve performance and compatibility.
You must dump the ROMs from games you own using a home‑brew tool on a 3DS; downloading ROMs from the internet is illegal.
This can happen if the APK is incompatible with your Android version, if unknown sources are disabled, or if the file is corrupted; verify settings and re‑download if needed.
A MOD build is not available for Citra; the official nightly‑2104 version is the only verified release.
